Last April 22nd we kicked-off our very first LIGHTHOUSE SESSION – a talk on welcoming Ukrainian refugees in creative hubs and cultural structures.
At ECHN we invited creative professionals to share their experience in dealing with the migrant crisis – this motivated a great discussion and sharing of case studies, best practices and tools for effective support. The aim is to create a learning opportunity and debate for the hubs dealing with welcoming people in vulnerable situations for the first time and with no past experience.
This event was open to all hub managers, creative and coworking spaces, Cultural Organisations and all the structures that want to contribute to the situation and have the space and capacity to.
We want to particularly address the effort of Gabriela and Viorica who helped prepare this so it would be as informative and fruitful as possible! And we were really happy that we had this ‘surprise’ visit and contribution from Mykhailo (IZONE in Kyiv) who could give us first hand feedback about the best ways to help and how the situation is in Ukraine.
The video from the session is already available here.
