December’s Family Brunch took us to a decentralized hub

news

As usual, on the first Friday of November we had another round of our dear ‘Online Family Brunch’ – our monthly event exclusive to ECHN members!

This month we also had the time to hear Agustín from Anceu Coliving telling us all about the upcoming ECHN Workshop they are preparing! We’re excited to see the further developments. Thank you again for all of you who are a part of this community and make these events so warm and inspiring.

This month we welcomed Natalia Palombo and Zuzana Fryntova, two of the faces of Deveron Projects, an unusual hub based in Huntly, North-East of Scotland.

Why is this unusual? Because here, ‘the town is the venue’.

Deveron Projects is a socially-engaged arts organisation. They work collaboratively to develop socially engaged practice locally, nationally and internationally. Their projects connect artists, communities and places through the process of making art and they do this through a methodology of the Town is the Venue – this is to say they do not have a fixed venue: instead, they work across the town with the local communities and a multitude of cultures, trying to break down barriers to contemporary art, and effect social change. Find all about their work here.
