The May 2026 edition of the ECHN Family Brunch takes us to Geneva, Switzerland, where we’ll get to meet the team of Onl’ fait!
Let’s Brunch together this May in Geneva, Switzerland. Our host will be Onl' Fait (a word play in French that can be translated as “we make it” while sounding like “en effait”, “indeed” ), an impressive digital fabrication lab, featured in this month’s traditional Hub Spotlight.
Onl' fait seeks to foster a culture of ‘making’ and ‘working together’ by democratising access to machinery and promoting digital craftsmanship, with a view to creating a more sustainable and dynamic society. Onl’ fait’s areas of focus are summarised in four verb-concepts: understanding, learning, making and sharing.
From July 2025, Onl' fait moved to a 1200 square meter in the Plan-les-Ouates Industrial Zone, in the suburbs of Geneva. It is equipped with open spaces and 8 closed workshops dedicated to painting, sciences, wood, metal, audiovisual, printing, digital fabrication and sewing.
For out of school youngsters participating in the Explore programme of the ForPro Foundation, and for students in apprenticeships, the MakerLab encourages a spirit of exploration and strengthens cross-disciplinary skills. Businesses and the local community are able to benefit from using the MakerLab to learn, prototype, and share expertise. It also contributes to the local ecosystem and serves as a hub for exchange.
From Geneva, we then will travel back to Greece, to Thessaloniki more specifically, to meet one of the newest members of the ECHN community: WEHub - Cube NGO as the Hub Appetizer of this month, the same haute-cuisine content, served in a more compact format.
