Next4Fashion: the final conference of the S4Fashion project happened in Brussels!

The final event of the S4Fashion.eu project happened in the amazing MAD in Brussels, on the 6th of December 2023! 

Hosted by David Lapof from IED, the Welcome Speeches were handled by Tessa Moroder from Lottozero, Cecilia Nilsson-Bottka from the European Commission, DG GROW Policy & Legal Officer and Igor Kalinic, also from the European Commission, the EISMEA Head of the Sector. 

The second part was about sharing the outcomes and knowledge gained by the 3 year life cycle of the 4 COSME projects:
Anais Roussou, from European Creative Hubs Network, the Project Coordinator of S4Fashion;
Michael Laermann, Ecopreneur and Communications Lead at Fashion For Change;
Laura Velasco, Finnova, Project Coordinator, from Circoax;
Eleni Mavrogeni, Fashion Revolution Greece, Project Coordinator of Small But Perfect

The next session was about ‘Navigating the Future’ – discussing Europe’s Sustainable Fashion Support Programmes. 

This panel was moderated by Alain Heureux, from Virtuology Academy, who held a lively discussion on the successes and lessons of past initiatives, and deliberate on what needs evolution for the forthcoming strategies and it counted with the inputs from Ilona Lelonek Husting, the Policy Officer from the European Commission DG GROW, Alexandros Nousias, from Envolve Greece, Arthur ten Wolde, from Ecopreneur, the European Sustainable Business Federation, and Fredrik Timur, from Fashion Innovation Center. 

After this session, some of S4Fashion participants shared their entrepreneurial journey in sustainability. 

Ingrid Willems, from Data Scouts, hosted the session where the 3 entrepreneurs Zoe Romano, from Clotho, Stefanie Barz, from The Loop Look, and Ilaria Maria Sposito, from Junkle shared their insights, conquers and main challenges.

The last intervention was the Guided Policy Dialogue: discussing what is the next cause for policy makers?

Moderated by Muchaneta Ten Napel, from CCI Taskforce (UGIH) Chair, and Associate Lecturer at London College of Fashion, the group was completed with the presence of Eleni Stavrou (Member of the European Parliament), Cecilia Nilsson-Bottka (Legal & Policy Officer at DG GROW, European Commission), Lisa Lang (Director of Policy & EU Affairs at the EIT Climate KIC), and Leida Rijnhout (Chief Executive from the World Fair Trade Organization).


This panel aimed to critically examine the challenges in the fashion industry and propose innovative, sustainable policy solutions. It provided a comprehensive understanding of the issues, existing frameworks, and potential remedies, with the goal of guiding the industry toward a sustainable future.
