Fashion and Garment Chamber of Armenia NGO founded in 2017 (http://www.fdc.am) with the main mission to strengthen the Armenian fashion, textile and design sector by enabling it to be fully embedded in the local and international creative ecosystems. FGC vision is to be the leading organization in Armenia that unifies fashion and design professionals to build a sustainable industry and position the Armenian creative and manufacturing sector as an ethical competitor on the global market. Today FGC unites under its roof more than 250 Armenian designers, brands, textile companies, students and creatives.
The FGC's main activities are:
• establishment of collaboration and networking opportunities within Armenia and internationally,
• promotion of Armenian fashion and design sector within new markets,
• capacity building, consultancy, information support to members,
• advocacy and representation of the interests of members/sector within decision makers,
• establishment of dialogue between educational institutions and businesses,
• insurance of access to economic opportunities for the development of the sector,
• establishment of a creative hub platform to support creative industry development.
In order to achieve its goals and objectives, the FDC cooperates with public and private entities, local and international organizations in Armenia and abroad by fundraising more than 3 mln. EURO into the sector supports programs so far. Today FGC serves as a perfect network for the Government in lobbing different sector-related legal and economic cases and directly engaged on sector strategy development. It provides an excellent opportunity to exhibit Made in Armenian culture and creativity, and to network with the wider creative community and beyond.
FGC has technically equipped CreLab for the fashion and creative community to foster entrepreneurship and catalyze social innovation. It is a creative hub fully set-up with computers, office premises, library, workshop & training areas, sewing laboratory, photo and networking zones. The main goal of the CreLab to provide platform for the creative community to brainstorm, develop products, do educational and mentorship programs, connect industry representatives: fellow entrepreneurs, experts, students and changemakers. It’s not just a physical space, but a movement that empowers to shape its own narrative and contributes to a brighter future. The CreLab is for empowering creativity, women's entrepreneurship, social innovation and networking.
