Throwback to the European Culture & Creativity Days!

The launching event of the EIT Culture & Creativity happened in Vienna and ECHN members also had the chance to participate and make the event a success!

The event brought together 446 creatives, artists, policy makers, researchers, investors, entrepreneurs from 33 countries, who share a passion for culture and creativity. The exchange of ideas, experiences, and perspectives during the event was truly inspiring.

* The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) is an EU initiative that aims to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in various thematic areas, and one of its Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) is EIT Culture and Creativity. The main scope of EIT Culture and Creativity is to promote and support innovation in the cultural and creative sectors. This KIC focuses on leveraging the potential of the cultural and creative industries to drive economic growth, create jobs, and enhance societal well-being.

Specifically, EIT Culture and Creativity aims to achieve the following objectives:

1. Foster innovation: The KIC seeks to stimulate innovation within the cultural and creative sectors by supporting startups, entrepreneurs, and established companies in developing new products, services, and business models.
2. Promote cross-sector collaboration: EIT Culture and Creativity encourages collaboration between cultural and creative industries, technology, and other sectors to create interdisciplinary solutions and drive innovation at the intersection of culture, creativity, and technology.
3. Support entrepreneurship: The KIC provides training, mentoring, and funding opportunities to individuals and organizations in the cultural and creative sectors to help them turn their creative ideas into viable businesses.
4. Enhance competitiveness: By nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship, EIT Culture and Creativity aims to increase the competitiveness of the European cultural and creative industries in a global context.
5. Create societal impact: The KIC seeks to leverage culture and creativity to address societal challenges, promote cultural diversity, and enhance the quality of life in Europe.
6. Develop a sustainable cultural and creative ecosystem: EIT Culture and Creativity works to build a sustainable ecosystem that supports the growth and long-term success of the cultural and creative industries.

The EIT Culture and Creativity’s overarching goal is to drive innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable growth in the cultural and creative sectors within the European Union.
