ECHN is relaunching its Thematic Cluster (TC) framework, with a fresh and complete view of their functioning, and the role within the operations and strategic development of the network. It brings together regular ECHN members, based on their complementary profiles, sizes of operations, contexts in which they are operating, program focuses or another taxonomy that thematically, strategically and practically makes the most sense, within the scope of ECHN program and mission.
The TCs bring together members with shared interests, common challenges and complementary expertise, creating dedicated spaces for exchange, peer support and co-creation of new ideas, projects, initiatives or campaigns. It is also a way to connect more directly to those members who can very promptly help you with solutions to your day-to-day problems - from their own experience.
Each TC is made up of ECHN regular members and supported by a member of the ECHN team, alongside the Lead person coming from the community. Clusters meet quarterly, stay connected through dedicated communication channels, and can develop activities such as:
Thematic Clusters are designed to help members build stronger connections throughout the year and make the most of the ECHN community. By joining a TC, members can:
We are relaunching with three already active clusters, which will be strengthened by new members and the revamped working framework: Makerspaces, Textile & Fashion and the Rural thematic cluster, dedicated to rural initiatives from across the network.
Interested in starting a new thematic cluster?
Members are also invited to propose new Thematic Clusters. If at least five ECHN member hubs share a common theme, sector or focus area, they can submit an initiative for a new Thematic Cluster to our Board of Directors. In the other way around, the Board of Directors can initiate a new TC in case it recognizes its relevance for the strategic direction of the network, and in case enough members are motivated to take part in it.
Whether you would like to join one of the existing clusters or help shape a new one, Thematic Clusters are a great way to engage more deeply with the ECHN network and the members who are your imminent peers - to create impact together!
More detailed information on our new TC framework, and how to join the current clusters, is available on our website, with the complete framework available on the following link.
If you are interested to join any of the three existing Thematic Clusters, please reach out to our Community Manager, Pepe Peralta Guerrero (pepe@creativehubs.net), who will connect you to the designated Lead and Facilitator of the Thematic Cluster in question.
