Next week, Creative Skills Week 2026 will bring CYANOTYPES partners together in Brussels to uncover the lessons, challenges and unexpected discoveries from four years of experimentation. ECHN will join the conversation through the “CYANOTYPES: The Best Kept Secrets” parallel session on 8 September.
Next week, Creative Skills Week 2026 will bring together creative professionals, cultural organisations, educators and policymakers in Brussels to explore how creative skills can help shape Europe’s future. Among the programme’s parallel sessions is “CYANOTYPES: The Best Kept Secrets”, taking place on Tuesday 8 September, with ECHN joining the session as a CYANOTYPES partner.
What can four years of experimentation across Europe teach us about developing and applying creative skills?
This is the question behind “CYANOTYPES: The Best Kept Secrets”, an interactive parallel session taking place twice on Tuesday 8 September, from 9:30–11:00 and 11:30–12:45.
Rather than presenting the CYANOTYPES Framework through traditional presentations, the session will open up the lessons, challenges and unexpected discoveries that emerged from four years of experimentation through CYANOTYPES Pilots across Europe.
Participants will hear directly from partners and organisations that have implemented CYANOTYPES Pilots, exploring how they identified blind spots, reframed challenges, learned from mistakes and translated creative competences into meaningful change within their organisations.
ECHN will be part of both rounds of the session, with Andrii Sichkovskyi representing the European Creative Hubs Network and sharing experience from ECHN’s involvement in the CYANOTYPES project. Alongside contributions from organisations including HBKsaar, Creative Industry Košice, WRS Stuttgart, the University of the Arts Vienna and Swedish Games Industry, the session offers a space for partners to exchange practical experiences and learn from one another.
The format is deliberately hands-on. Working with CYANOTYPES Pilots, tools and real implementation stories, participants will be invited to reflect on their own practices, discover new perspectives and identify practical next steps they can take within their own organisations.
The session is part of Creative Skills Week 2026, taking place in Brussels from 7–9 September. The three-day event puts creative confidence at the centre of discussions around Europe’s social, digital and environmental challenges, bringing together perspectives from the cultural and creative sectors, education, policy and beyond.
As a partner in CYANOTYPES, ECHN is pleased to contribute to this exchange and to share the experiences of creative hubs and organisations involved in experimenting with new approaches to skills development.
