BAUTOPIA 7 joins forces with TRANSEUROPA 2026 in Athens, bringing two festivals and a shared programme of workshops into conversation.
This October, BAUTOPIA 7 and TRANSEUROPA 2026 come together in Athens and align for a special festival collaboration, bringing creative practice, political imagination and collective action into conversation.
TRANSEUROPA is a feminist, transnational and ecological festival taking place in Athens from 7–11 October, organised by European Alternatives. Its 2026 edition, Reclaiming the Cloud(s), focuses on reclaiming air, digital space and the commons in the face of privatisation, exclusion and authoritarian control.
As part of the collaboration, two TRANSEUROPA workshops will take place within the BAUTOPIA programme at PLEX, with free admission upon registration:
Tracing the Invisible: Performance-led mixed-media animation workshop

Participants will turn movement and performance into short animation loops, working with printed video frames, drawing, writing and mixed-media techniques. Led by artist and filmmaker Anna Járai, the workshop invites participants to experiment across performance, analogue and digital animation.
The Ministry of Renewable Extinction (MRX)

Led by an artist, this near-future artistic prototype imagines a ministry offering jobs during climate extinction. Participants will experience an “occupation orientation day” and explore how they might create their own ministries and jobs from possible futures.
Visitors of both events will be engaging with the other’s programmes, thus building an even larger field and playground for creative and cultural professionals, activists, makers and artists to interact and build new synergies across European borders, all happening in the city where it all began many centuries ago.
At the European Creative Hubs Network, we’re happy to see BAUTOPIA’s focus on creative agency meet TRANSEUROPA’s and Creative Alternatives call to reclaim digital space and the commons, opening up a broader conversation about how creativity can help us question, imagine and shape our shared futures.
