It's a wrap! ECHN Workshop 2026 at Sende

Low-tech communication does not mean outdated communication. Neither needs to feel like a burden to all creatives that wish to promote their work and initiatives. We really now that chasing for likes and social media engagement can be frustrating and overwhelming, especially if it distracts you from your creative work.

Low-tech means choosing tools and approaches that are direct, durable and effective, which will be especially true if they are simple.

This toolkit, developed and presented by Sende, distills 20 practical pieces of advice, tips, strategies and methods for low-tech communication, developed through a workshop held within the European Creative Hubs Network program. It is designed for the people who run creative and community spaces, residencies, makerspaces, coliving spaces, hubs or cultural centres. It’s intended for all who want to communicate better without - becoming full-time social media managers.

The 20 tips that move from the very practical (illustrate a map of your space, collect your email list), to the philosophical (think like a space builder, not an influencer). Some may apply immediately to your hubs' current situation; others may be relevant at some point in the future. Each tip is presented with its rationale, practical applications, and a closing insight.

The publication is the result of the workshop Low-tech Communication for Creative Spaces, held from February 2-7, 2026 at Sende, Senderiz, Galicia, Spain, within the framework of the European Creative Hubs Network. The workshop brought together creative hubs from across Europe to experiment and exchange practical methods for communicating a bit differently - in ways that are simpler and that actually work for our real contexts.
