DumBO - which stands for Multifunctional Urban District of Bologna - is a temporary space of urban regeneration in the close outskirt of Bologna (IT) born in 2019 as an urban district dedicated to art, inclusion, culture, social innovation, creative jobs, sustainability, start-up incubator and sports. Almost 40.000 m2 used as railway complex until 2010 and then abandoned are now a place where institutions, cultural associations, businesses and citizens can collaborate; a platform to embrace and create new ideas and new artistic and creative expressions; a project that blends social inclusion, entertainment, culture in all its forms, experimentation and sustainability. DumBO is much more than a cultural space. It's an open community that welcomes and connects different experiences to create new synergies and connections between culture, art and society. Nowadays DumBO hosts more than 20 businesses, operating in the fields of visual design, circular economy, communication, publishing, sports, architecture, cultural events, engineering.
