Open since April 2016, BASE is Milan’s centre of progress, cultural and social innovation, run by a not-for-profit social enterprise. The hub focuses on fostering innovation and research in the cultural and creative sectors.
BASE aims to transform the relationship between culture and economy, alongside visions of the future and the present, through art, creativity and technology. Situated in the heart of the Tortona District, the former Ansaldo industrial plant has been entirely renovated and transformed into 12,000 m2 of working areas, laboratories, meeting spaces, exhibition, show, workshop and lecture venues.
